September 1, 2014 "We deeply regret the execution in Japan of two death row inmates, Mitsuhiro Kobayashi and Tsutomu Takamizawa, today. Since the end of a de facto moratorium of 20 months in March 2012, eighteen persons have been executed in Japan.

August 13, 2014 The Embassy of the Netherlands organized a Netherlands-Japan Workshop on Plant Factories on 24 July 2014 at Tokyo Big Sight on the occasion of the Greenhouse Horticulture and Plant Factory Exhibition/Conference (GPEC). The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), promoting plant factories, was co-organizing this event.
