1 The Dutch Approach: Integrated framework as a principle for reconstruction

On July 5th, Architectural Institute of Japan and Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands co-hosted a symposium introducing Dutch Integral Approach for reconstruction of the tsunami affected areas. More than 170 people participated in this event.

2 Opening Mauritshuis Exhibition

On Friday 29 June, the exhibition 'Mauritshuis Exhibition - Masterpieces from the Royal Picture Gallery' was opened at the renovated Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. The exhibition will be on show until 17 September and will be on display in the Kobe City Museum from from 29 September.

3 Royal Decoration for Mr. Fujio Mitarai of Canon Inc.

On 20 June 2012, the ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mr. Philip de Heer, presented Mr. Fujio Mitarai, chairman and chief executive officer of Canon Inc., with the royal decoration of the Commandership in the Order of Orange Nassau.

4 Catwalk for Innovation!

TEDxBinnenhof Catwalk for Innovation will feature ten inspiring talks on groundbreaking ideas from the Netherlands that can help tackle global challenges such as pollution, healthcare costs, loss of biodiversity, climate change, and scarcity of natural resources, food and energy.

5 Embassy and Waseda University co-host Seminar on labour force participation of women

Labour force participation of women, especially in higher positions, is not yet ideal, neither in Japan nor in the Netherlands. For this reason on 6 June, the Dutch Embassy, co-organized a seminar with Waseda University, the seminar, ‘Untapped potential: Labour Force Participation of Women in the Netherlands and Japan’.
