The Dutch Approach: Integrated framework as a principle for reconstruction
On July 5th, Architectural Institute of Japan and Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands co-hosted a symposium introducing Dutch Integral Approach for reconstruction of the tsunami affected areas. More than 170 people participated in this event.
On July 5th, Architectural Institute of Japan and the Embassy of the Netherlands co-hosted a symposium introducing Dutch Integral Approach for reconstruction of the tsunami affected areas. More than 170 people participated in this event.
Mr. Jos van Alphen and Mr. Ton Venhoeven from the Netherlands were invited as guest speakers. They exchanged views and opinions with Japanese panelists.
On the following day 6th, Mr. Venhoeven, Dutch Government Advisor on Infrastructure paid a visit to Minami Sanriku Town in Miyagi with staff from the Embassy with a great assistance from Miyagi University professors. The Dutch team met with town officials and local consultants to hear about their progress with their reconstruction and introduced Dutch approach to them.
A workshop as follow-up of the symposium is currently discussed.
